About

Sam Joseph Studio film, (IN)VISIBLE is an internationally award winning psychological short debut that explores the effects of domestic abuse and society’s complicity in silencing women’s truths. Created using sustainable filmmaking practices and avoiding gratuitous depictions of violence against women, the film follows a young wife controlled by her older husband, misread as cold while he effortlessly charms his friends. During a tense pre-dinner gathering in an unfinished art exhibition space, he abruptly leaves, and she becomes the target of a damning trial shaped by her husband’s narrative.

(IN)VISIBLE lays bare the insidious nature of abuse, gaslighting, and coercive control. Set around a contemporary table that evokes iconic scenes from art history, the film underscores the enduring cycle of how women are seen, silenced, and judged.

Through (IN)VISIBLE, I crafted a visual and emotional journey that invites audiences to reflect on the structures we live within, the voices we fail to hear, and the stories we often leave untold, however uncomfortable that may be.

I am grateful and thank you to all the talented team and everyone who supported the making of the film.
