About
Sam Joseph Studio is a dynamic, socially conscious creative studio producing award-winning films and campaigns. Working across the intersections of film, art, and design, the studio collaborates with a diverse network of creatives to deliver public art projects, curated exhibitions, and bespoke art and design commissions.
Driven by authenticity and integrity, Sam Joseph Studio is committed to creating work that engages with some of today’s most pressing social and cultural issues.
Sam Joseph at Sam Joseph Studio is a visual artist, filmmaker, designer and lecturer, whose artistic practice explores the intersections of sustainability, societal norms, and systemic inequalities, with a focus on gender based violence within lived and public spaces. Sam highlights the resilience and strength of women and the need to challenge societal norms and gender stereotyping that perpetuates inequality. Creative development explores a layered response to social injustice through her award-winning filmmaking, expanded print, art, design and multimedia practices, critically examining societal structures and value systems.
Engaging with the constructed nature of value, advocacy and space, Sam reveals a sensitivity to spatial dynamics and viewer interaction inspiring empathy. Sam’s ability to bridge personal narrative, collective voice, and political urgency defines a vital and courageous contemporary practice. Sam invites into her projects teams of inspiring artists, designers, film specialists and collaborators to create powerful and meaningful works of integrity, authenticity and advocating for change.
Sam brings extensive experience across filmmaking, education, interior design, campaigns, fashion, community art projects, curation, and exhibitions throughout the UK and Europe. Her films have been screened internationally, reaching audiences in over 118 countries. An alumna of the Royal College of Art (RCA) and Central Saint Martins (CSM), Sam has collaborated with local councils and the Arts Council on creative community commissions, and contributed to academic initiatives with institutions such as the University of Manchester. She has also worked alongside leading designers including Paul Smith and Artworks, and is a member of the collective 4 People.
